Job summary

Rutland County Council is seeking an inspirational leader to join our Children and Families Directorate as Head of SEND, Inclusion and Learning. You will shape a strategic vision for SEND and inclusion, working with schools, early years providers and health partners to create a high-quality, equitable education system for every child across Rutland.

You will oversee the Virtual School and ensure strong early years provision, place planning, and partnerships that raise outcomes and life chances

Qualifications

• Proven strategic leadership in education, SEND, inclusion or children's services.
• Strong partnership building across schools, health partners and communities.
• Ability to translate strategy into tangible impact across services.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Council's strategic lead for education and inclusion.
• Lead development of an inclusive SEND and Inclusion system for local provision.
• Deliver a Virtual School service improving outcomes for looked-after children and those with a social worker.
• Oversee early years services, sufficiency funding entitlements and quality improvement.
• Lead school admissions and pupil place planning to ensure sufficiency of places.
