Job description

Location: Yeovil
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance + TLR

A well-respected and inclusive secondary school in Yeovil is seeking a qualified and committed SENCO to lead the provision for SEND students across the school. This is a key leadership post with the potential to make a profound impact on student outcomes and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the identification, assessment and provision for SEND students

  • Lead the EHCP process and liaise with families and external agencies

  • Coordinate in-class and targeted interventions across subjects

  • Train and support teaching and support staff in best SEND practice

  • Be a visible and proactive member of the safeguarding and wellbeing team

Essential Requirements:

  • QTS and National SENCO Award (or willingness to complete it)

  • Experience supporting students with a range of additional needs

  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive pedagogy

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and administrative skills

  • Enhanced DBS check required
