As our Head of Security & Safeguarding, you'll be the driving force behind a robust security and safeguarding strategy, shaping how we protect our colleagues, customers, and the communities we serve. You’ll lead a team including a Security Operations Manager, Safeguarding Managers and CCTV Administrators, while working closely with British Transport Police, the Department for Transport, and other safeguarding partners.
From developing annual security plans to championing suicide prevention and reducing workplace violence, this role is as dynamic as it is meaningful.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the delivery of security and safeguarding strategy across the business
- Building strong partnerships with BTP, Land Sheriffs, TfL and safeguarding agencies, and internal departments
- Overseeing delivery of an Annual Security Plan that meets concessionary targets
- Using data and intelligence to reduce crime, ticketless travel, and incidents of disorder
- Representing MTR Elizabeth line as the single point of contact for government security agencies
- Ensuring compliance with DfT security and safeguarding obligations
- Championing safety, suicide prevention, and wellbeing initiatives for staff and passengers
- Managing briefings, policy development, and contractual relationships
- Maintaining high safety and environmental standards in all security activities
What We’re Looking For
- Ideally degree-qualified, with additional qualifications in Crime Prevention, Risk, Resilience or Crisis Management
- A leadership qualification is a plus
- Strong understanding of railway security and policing frameworks
- Proven track record in multi-agency engagement and team leadership
- Experience using intelligence/data to drive continuous improvement
- Demonstrable success in a safety-focused, high-performance environment
