Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Head of School Post Registration Pharmacists to work in our innovativeNorthEastand YorkshireSchool of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation.

The purpose of the Head of School Post Registration Pharmacists is to oversee and lead work on the development and delivery of workstreams specifically for the post registration pharmacists.

Main duties of the job

This work is underpinned by the need for a flexible,productiveand affordable healthcare workforce that meets the needs of patients, reflecting evolving care pathways and the values set out in the NHS Constitution.

The post holder will coordinate a range of projects, fromproof-of-conceptwork to integrating emerging workstreams with establishedprogrammes.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The postholder will be working as part of theNorth Eastand Yorkshire Regional Pharmacy team but will be expected to work withNHSE’s National Pharmacy team and other relevant stakeholders across the system.

Achieving this will include:

  • Engaging with senior stakeholders,developingandmaintainingrelationships with a range of key stakeholders (internal and external) across allprogrammeareas,identifyingareas of interdependency and forging links asappropriatee.g.employers and professionalorganisations.
  • Working in partnership for multi-organisationownership and accountability
  • Managing projects at a regional level
  • Deputisingin senior stakeholder meetings, briefings, conferences,workshopsand other forums as appropriate
  • Running consultations and task and finish groups to understand system requirements
  • Budget management

Qualifications
  • Master’s Level or equivalent level of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist area acquired through postgraduate education or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge and expertise at a senior level to credibly communicate and influence system direction.
  • Expert knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare education, training policy and systems.
  • A developed understanding of current health and care policy and systems and its relationship to medical and healthcare education.
  • Experience of managing and significant and complex business process.
  • Re-engineering, with a particular focus on education and workforce redesign and developing new ways of working.
  • Experience of managing and delivering a number of complex initiatives simultaneously in rapidly evolving, political and high-pressure environments including effective management of risk.
  • Experience of complex stakeholder management.
