Job summary

Spring Brook Academy – Lower Site is seeking a Head of School on a fixed-term basis until 31 August 2027. You will lead the Lower Site from day one, act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and uphold a strong safeguarding culture while ensuring high-quality teaching and curriculum tailored to pupil needs.

We are looking for senior leaders with SEND/SEMH expertise, a proven track record of school improvement, and the ability to support staff, families, and partners.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience with demonstrable impact.
• Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH education.
• Excellent safeguarding knowledge and professional judgement.
• Proven track record of improving teaching, learning and outcomes.
• Ability to lead, support and challenge teams through change.
• Warmth, resilience and calmness in a complex environment.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into day-to-day practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly visible, consistent and relational leadership of the Lower Site from day one.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and uphold safeguarding culture.
• Secure consistency and quality in teaching, learning and curriculum.
• Lead and manage staff with performance oversight.
• Drive attendance, engagement and positive relationships.
• Implement improvement priorities and report progress and risk to leadership.
• Collaborate with families and partner professionals for pupils.
• Plan for 2027/28 and ensure smooth handover.
