Job summary

Courtlands School in Plymouth is seeking an exceptional Head of School to lead the next chapter of its journey. This leadership role requires a passionate educator with a strong track record in curriculum design, school improvement and safeguarding.

You will work closely with the Trust Executive team, families and trust leaders to raise attainment, develop an ambitious curriculum and ensure every pupil realises their potential through inclusive practice and high expectations.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of curriculum design, implementation and assessment.
• Ability to translate ambitious curriculum thinking into exceptional classroom practice.
• Commitment to inclusion and improving life chances for vulnerable learners.
• Ability to lead and develop others through coaching, collaboration and professional trust.
• Uses evidence and evaluation to drive sustainable school improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspirational day-to-day leadership and work with the Trust Executive team and Regional Director to improve provision.
• Lead curriculum development and assessment standards across the school.
• Develop staff through coaching, mentoring and collaborative practice.
• Foster strong relationships with pupils, families and external partners.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and achievement.
