About the Organisation:

About the Role:
The Head of School (Alternative Provision) will lead a small, specialist setting with a mission to support students in returning to mainstream education or progressing into further education, training, or employment. This is a key leadership role within the organisation, responsible for day-to-day operations, staff management, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Mentor and support teaching and support staff in delivering high-quality education and behaviour management.
  • Manage the Programme of Study and curriculum implementation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Independent School Standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote the school's values and achievements within the local community.
  • Uphold all organisational policies including those on equality, safeguarding, and health and safety.
  • Set and maintain high expectations for staff and students alike.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Leadership experience in a similar-sized provision (approximately 15 staff, 35 students), such as Head of Department, SLT member, or Headteacher.
  • A degree in a relevant subject and possession of QTS, QTLS, or a recognised overseas equivalent.
  • A demonstrable track record of raising student attainment.
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with educational policies and standards.

Desirable:

  • NPQH (completed or in progress)
