Hybrid Working: 2 days onsite per week

The Head of Salesforce Centre of Excellence (CoE) is responsible for setting the Salesforce strategic direction, enhancing capabilities, and ensuring operational excellence within the organisation. The role requires a strong understanding of the Salesforce product suite and experience managing Salesforce administrators and developers.

This position also demands strategic vision, strong leadership, and programme management skills to successfully deliver initiatives and promote ongoing Salesforce adoption across the organisation.

The successful candidate will develop business-focused solutions, manage the Centre of Enablement (CoE), and maintain key relationships with internal business units, external system integrators (SI), Salesforce, and other government departments.

This role is a strategic platform to address data challenges, improve efficiencies, and streamline non-standard processes. It is not used for sales and marketing purposes but to manage processes, cases, contacts, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Governance:

  • Define, implement, and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Salesforce CoE, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and digital transformation goals.
  • Establish and enforce governance frameworks, standards, and best practices for Salesforce utilisation across the organisation.

Centre of Excellence (CoE) Management:

  • Build and manage a high-performing CoE team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the team's Salesforce capabilities and facilitate knowledge sharing.

Offshore Systems Integrator (SI) Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with offshore SIs, ensuring clear communication and aligned objectives.
  • Oversee the quality and timeliness of deliverables from offshore partners, ensuring they meet organisational standards and requirements.

Business-Focused Solution Development:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify requirements and translate them into effective Salesforce solutions.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, secure Salesforce applications that improve business processes and deliver measurable value.
  • Ensure solutions are user-centric and follow user experience best practices.

Salesforce Administration and Development:

  • Lead Salesforce platform administration, including user management, security configurations, data integrity, and system maintenance.

Automation Strategy and Subject Knowledge:

  • Champion automation to optimise business processes and efficiencies.
  • Engage in and shape the DDSS Automation and AI strategy and Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Collaborate closely with Data, AI, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
