Job description

My client is a growing collection of independent 4 star-hotels across London, offering contemporary, high-quality experiences for both leisure and business travellers. They pride themselves on delivering outstanding guest experiences while optimising commercial performance. With an ambitious vision for growth, they are now seeking a dynamic Head of Sales & Marketing to lead their commercial strategy, drive revenue performance, and elevate their presence in the competitive London market.

Job Purpose:

The Head of Sales & Marketing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all sales, marketing, and revenue-generating initiatives for the hotels. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, market expertise, and commercial acumen, developing and executing strategies to maximise occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and total revenue across all segments. Must support and advise the operational team for any functions/meeting to ensure customer satisfaction.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Directors & Financial Controller responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Sales Leadership:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy covering corporate, leisure, group, MICE, and OTA segments.

• Build and manage set performance targets.

• Personally manage key strategic accounts and relationships, securing new business opportunities and partnerships.

• Lead regular sales forecasting, reporting, and market analysis to inform business decisions.

Marketing Strategy:

• Oversee the development and execution of marketing plans to increase visibility and market share.

• Manage all digital marketing activities, including website content, social media, email campaigns, and online advertising.

• Coordinate PR initiatives, partnerships, and promotional campaigns with agencies and media outlets.

• Ensure consistency and positioning across all guest touchpoints and communications.

Revenue & Commercial Management:

• Collaborate closely with the Revenue Manager to align pricing, distribution, and inventory strategies.

• Monitor competitor performance and market trends, providing strategic recommendations to maintain a competitive edge.

• Analyse sales and marketing data to measure campaign effectiveness, ROI, and business performance.

Candidate Profile:

Essential:

• Proven experience in a senior Sales & Marketing leadership role within the hospitality industry, ideally in London.

• Strong network of corporate, agency, and travel trade contacts within the UK and international markets.

• Demonstrable experience in leading and developing sales & marketing teams.

• Commercially astute, with a track record of delivering revenue growth and market share gains.

• Expertise in digital marketing, management, and website CRM systems.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with multi-property hotel portfolios.

• Familiarity with international distribution channels and partnerships.

• Experience using OPERA CLOUD (property management system).

• Degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field.
