Job description

Job Title: Head of Sales & Events – Livery Venue (Maternity Cover)

Location: Central London

Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover (12 months)

Hybrid working available: Yes

We are seeking a Head of Sales & Events to lead the commercial strategy for a prestigious livery venue in London. This maternity cover role involves managing a team of 4 and overseeing the sales and planning of exceptional events across corporate, private, and cultural sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement the venue’s sales strategy to maximise bookings and revenue.
  2. Lead, support, and develop a team of 4 sales and event professionals.
  3. Manage the full event process—from initial enquiry to planning and on-the-day meet & greet (note: the operations department will handle the event on the day).
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, and suppliers.
  5. Represent the venue at networking events, showcases, and industry forums.
  6. Monitor sales performance, report on targets, and manage the sales pipeline.
About You:
  • Proven experience in event sales, preferably in a heritage or unique venue setting.
  • Strong leadership and client-facing skills.
  • Excellent communication, client service, and organisational abilities.
  • Commercially driven with a creative approach to sales and marketing.
  • Knowledge of livery venues within London and their types of events is desirable.
