An established B2B events business is looking for a strategic and commercially minded Head of Business Development to drive growth across a portfolio of large-scale professional shows. This senior-level role is ideal for someone with a strong background in media or exhibition sales who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable leading high-value partnerships, securing new business, and shaping revenue strategies across multiple streams, including stand sales, sponsorship, and digital solutions.

The successful candidate will take ownership of sales leadership, team management, and long-term client development while contributing directly to commercial strategy, financial forecasting, and innovation across the group. They will be expected to manage their own sales pipeline while also mentoring the wider team, developing high-impact proposals, and ensuring performance metrics are consistently met. This role would suit someone highly motivated, with excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for identifying new opportunities and unlocking value in a competitive commercial landscape.

What will this role include?:

  • Driving new business and managing high-value commercial partnerships across events, sponsorship, and digital solutions

  • Managing key client relationships, including complex negotiations and long-term account growth

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within exhibitions, events, or media, with a strong track record in both new business and account growth
  • Confident leading high-value commercial conversations, including sponsorship, stand space, and digital sales
  • Skilled in managing and motivating a sales team while contributing personally to revenue generation
  • A strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, able to build long-term client relationships and adapt in a fast-paced environment
