Sales Manager – Foodservice
£70-80,000 + benefits package

Would you like to join a family-owned business that is a leader in multiple categories?

The business operates multiple sites across multiple countries and categories, with over 1000 staff the business is going from strength to strength, with a huge NPD pipeline and established customer base.

Due to growth, we are looking for a Sales Manager to join the business, taking responsibility for leading a sales team of 4 to achieve and exceed sales targets, implementing effective strategies and harbouring a high-performing team. You will work hand-in-hand with the SLT to deliver growth across key food service customers both distributors and end users.

The business operates across multiple categories but an understanding of Sauces, Stocks or Spreads would be beneficial. You will come from a food or drinks background and have existing relationships with large food manufacturers in the UK. You will have an appetite for NPD and will be hungry to come up with new ideas. You will have strong commercial and category capabilities and be comfortable converting data into stories to help you sell.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Sales team to achieve and surpass set budgets and targets.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on sales performance against set goals, focusing on volume, value, and timelines.
  • Drive team motivation to exceed expectations and targets while championing accurate monthly guidance documents and internal reporting measures.
  • Analyse customer needs, identify growth opportunities, and support the creation of new business from existing customer portfolios.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, finance, and operations to manage accounts, and meet SOPs.
  • Participate in project teams to represent the customer’s viewpoint on quality, costs, delivery times, and pricing.
  • Ensure adherence to Sales SOPs, manage team performance, and contribute to long-term growth strategies aligned with customer feedback and market opportunities.

Experience:

  • Thrives in fast-paced, demanding environments and demonstrates adaptability.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and sales expansion, particularly in growth-oriented settings.
  • 5-10 years of experience in business development and sales expansion, capable of engaging high-calibre customers effectively.
  • Culinary/kitchen experience is advantageous, and knowledge of the Stock/Sauce/Fluids/butter market in the UK & Ireland is desirable.
  • Extensive expertise in B2B and foodservice markets, possessing established relationships in these sectors.
  • Strong commercial acumen, numeracy skills, and the ability to price products effectively.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, and capable of managing and evaluating geographically diverse sales teams.
