Head of Safeguarding and Risk

Harbour Healthcare

k plus 5k Car Allowance

Based in the North West, covering a National Role.

This role provides strategic leadership for safeguarding and protection across Harbour Healthcare Services, ensuring the safeguarding and wellbeing of residents in our care. It also manages complaint handling in line with policy and drives continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the provider's safeguarding expert and primary contact for all safeguarding issues and queries.
  2. Oversee and monitor a comprehensive safeguarding strategy to ensure compliance and effective practice.
  3. Manage a Coroners Register, conduct root cause analysis, and produce reports.
  4. Promote good practice and positive clinical/quality outcomes, sharing findings to enhance resident experience.
  5. Build partnerships with local services, external agencies, and safeguarding networks.
  6. Track and respond to complaints, ensuring policies are followed.
  7. Support care homes with compliance concerns to implement improvements.
  8. Assist in maintaining or improving regulator ratings of care homes.
  9. Stay informed about regulations and work within regulatory frameworks.
