What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
Your role
As a Head of Role for Software Engineering, you will be an expert and role model in software craft.
You will lead design, development, and support of software products, driving consistency, standards, and quality, resolving technical blockers, and promoting collaboration.
You will define strategy and standards for our Engineering community and lead adoption of best practices. You will represent DWP and Engineering in wider forums.
The role involves both strategic leadership and hands-on involvement when necessary.
Location: Join us in one of our digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, or Sheffield.
Hybrid working: Flexible working arrangements with some time in the office and some at home.
Pay: Up to £89,995.
Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions up to 28.97%, approximately £22,521/year.
Holidays: Starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days, plus public holidays and up to 3 extra days off per month on flexi-time.
