Job summary

Union Maritime Ltd. is seeking a senior Risk professional to own the enterprise risk framework across the group, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed at group and entity levels. The role leads market, credit, regulatory, and liquidity risk activities and reports to investors and partners.

You will oversee a team of senior finance professionals, driving risk strategies in a fast-paced maritime environment while ensuring governance and compliance across continents.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in a trading house or asset-heavy organisation.
• Strong presentation skills (PowerPoint and Excel) to communicate complex risks to investors and senior management.
• Self-starter who can handle ambiguity in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead on market risk, including commodity exposure, asset and charter risk, FX and interest rate risk, hedging strategy and execution.
• Manage credit and counterparty risk within trading and commercial activities.
• Oversee financial regulatory and compliance risk and monitor regulatory changes.
• Manage liquidity and working capital risk aligned with capital structure strategy.
• Own reporting and communication with investors and joint venture partners.
• Oversee a team of senior finance professionals across the group.

The Position

We are looking for a Risk professional to own the enterprise risk framework across the group, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and appropriately managed or mitigated at group and entity level.

Responsibilities

• Lead on market risk: commodity exposure, asset and charter risk, foreign exchange, and interest rate risk, including hedging strategy and execution
• Manage credit and counterparty risk, particularly in the context of the group's trading and commercial activities
• Lead on financial regulatory and compliance risk, monitoring the evolving regulatory environment and its implications for the group's financing and capital structure
• Manage liquidity and working capital management risk in conjunction with the group's capital structure strategy
• Own the reporting and communication process with existing and prospective investors and joint venture partners providing institutional-grade financial reporting and strategic updates
• Oversee a team of senior finance professionals across the group, including finance operations

Job Knowledge and Experience

• Presentation skills should be top notch (written and oral internal and external) including advanced PowerPoint and Excel
• 15 + years of experience working in a trading house or asset heavy organisation
• A self-starter who handles ambiguity well
• Union Maritime is a fast paced entrepreneurial environment, we require all staff to be in the office 5 days per week
