Head of Revenues, Benefits & Tackling Inequality
North London Based
Temporary contract
36 hours per week
£266.32 per day

This is a business-critical head of service role responsible for managing services that administer over £250 million in statutory and company benefits expenditure and collecting over £300 million in council tax, business rates, and debt income annually.

  • To be the strategic and operational lead for all main income collection areas such as Council Tax, Business Rates, and debts owed to the Council, ensuring efficiency and a high-quality resident experience.
  • To support the design and implementation of the new Tackling Inequality model, lead the council's Ethical Debt Collection Policy, and innovate ways to prevent resident debt, address it early, facilitate easy payments, and provide timely welfare support and advice to residents facing financial difficulties.
  • To develop and implement local policies from manifesto commitments related to revenues, benefits, & debt, advising elected Members, and enacting policy changes from Central Government.
