We are looking for a Head of Residential Conveyancing, Thame to lead the Property team in Thame. You will provide strong leadership and expertise for the team in our prestigious Thame Head office delivering exceptional service to our clients by advising on all aspects of the buying, selling and re-mortgage process including legal issues, finances and contracts.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress in their career and build and manage a highly successful conveyancing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimising opportunities in the Thame area and continuing to build relationships with local agents and clients;
  • Lead on resource planning alongside the Partner and development of talented team of conveyancers;
  • Handling files for freehold and leasehold properties from initial instructions through to completion ensuring all enquiries are dealt with, title issues accurately resolved, all searches carried out and checked mortgage conditions are satisfied;
  • Preparing of contracts and supporting documents;
  • Checking official copy documents;
  • Ensuring post completion is concluded accurately;
  • Handling client billing and ensuring all billing is accurate and timely;
  • Using case management systems on a day-to-day basis; and
  • Liaising with clients, agents, borrowers, brokers, managers, buyer’s solicitors, internal departments and any others as necessary.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive fee earning experience essential within residential property at senior level.
  • You should be a qualified solicitor / Licensed Conveyancer
  • A great team manager willing to lead the team and provide day to day oversight to team
  • Sound legal knowledge within the conveyancing process
  • Experience of handling transfers of equity, re-mortgages, new builds, shared ownership leases and declarations of trust.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Experience with leasehold properties and corporate clients and buy-to-let and portfolio owners
  • A high level of attention to detail while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive with commercial and financial awareness
