A regional health care trust in England is seeking a Head of Research Delivery and Support for Wider Care Settings. This part-time role focuses on the strategic oversight and leadership of the Agile Research Delivery Team. Responsibilities include liaising with research partners, leading project initiatives, and ensuring effective delivery of research across the region. The Head of Research Delivery & Support for Wider Care Settings is a senior leadership role that has a focus on the strategic oversight, deployment and delivery capabilities of the South East RRDN's Agile Research Delivery Team. You will be joining the organisation at an exciting time and be a part of a collaborative and supportive regional and national team developing, leading and delivering research across the South East.
Key responsibilities for this role include fostering and nurturing productive relationships with regional partners including both commercial and non-commercial study teams/sponsors, research site delivery personnel, and senior research leadership within Delivery Organisations. This role will lead dedicated teams in the provision of research delivery and support for wider care settings ensuring seamless coordination with other services/functions within the regional and national network.
The role is within the South East RRDN hosted by the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and will require regional travel from an agreed base and some national travel.
This role is a job share working 0.6 WTE with designated work days of Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
This role will liaise with NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) research Delivery Organisations (organisations delivering RDN portfolio research) across all settings to ensure they are effectively supported by the Agile Research Delivery Team. This role will work alongside the Head of Partner Liaison and Planning to co-lead the work of the Study Support Service Team with a focus on wider care settings. This role has oversight of the Regional RDN (RRDN) Study Support Service, with respect to wider care settings, which will be seamlessly integrated within the collective national Study Support Service and interfacing Agile Research Delivery team.Working at a system level, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight, deployment and delivery capabilities of the RRDN's Agile Research Delivery Team whilst informing the continuous improvement of research delivery services.
The ability to establish trust and to work collaboratively and inclusively is of fundamental importance to the role, as is the ability to translate a complex environment and sets of relationships into clear plans and actions. The post holder will also help us develop as a learning organisation through broader stakeholder liaison and feedback.

Act as a senior leader within the RDN, providing strategic direction and guidance Work as part of a community of senior leaders across the national network, exercising shared leadership and promoting the consistency of experience across a nationally-harmonised Agile Research Delivery Teams and study support services for wider care settings Co-develop and lead on national projects as required Collaborate with National and RRDN Specialty and Settings Leaders to align regional operational activities with national strategic objectives Offer strategic leadership to research delivery sites, contributing to strategic planning (including the development of three-year strategies) and proactively tackling operational challenges as an active partner Lead the implementation and cascade of a range of national strategic directives within the region and the local RRDN, reporting on local learnings, successes and challenges Contribute to collective national business planning for the Agile Research Delivery (all settings) and Study Support and Partner Liaison services for out of hospital settings Contribute to coordinating, reviewing, evaluating and approving research site delivery plans, and have delegated responsibility for periodically performance monitoring against those plans to ensure that RDN funding is being used appropriately and effectively Lead on regional business planning for the Agile Research Delivery Team and Study Support Service, ensuring effective implementation and reporting
