About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Reporting (Solvency II) to lead the delivery of high-quality regulatory reporting under the Solvency II framework. This senior leadership role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of regulatory submissions, driving governance and controls, and supporting ongoing compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

You will lead a team of skilled reporting professionals and collaborate closely with actuarial, risk, finance, and senior leadership teams to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to regulators and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end production and delivery of Solvency II reporting, including QRTs, SFCR, RSR, and NSTs.
  • Own and maintain robust reporting processes and controls to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.
  • Partner with actuarial, risk, finance, and IT teams to align data, assumptions, and methodologies for regulatory submissions.
  • Lead the interaction with regulatory bodies, including responding to queries and managing on-site reviews or audits.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the business remains ahead of Solvency II and related reporting requirements.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the reporting team to foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders with Solvency II data and analysis to inform business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Drive improvements in reporting systems, data architecture, and automation to increase efficiency and control.
  • Contribute to broader finance transformation and regulatory change programmes.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a senior regulatory or financial reporting role within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of Solvency II regulatory requirements and reporting obligations (QRTs, SFCR, RSR, etc.).
  • Experience managing regulatory interactions and audits.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Skilled at managing complex data flows and reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools, systems, and data governance practices.
  • Recognised professional qualification (FIA or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Exposure to UK/US GAAP
  • Experience in a group reporting or cross-border insurance environment.
  • Track record of driving reporting automation or system transformation.
