Head of Regulatory Reporting and Financial Control - Challenger Bank

The Head of Regulatory Reporting and Financial Control will be responsible for ensuring the organization's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining robust financial controls. The role involves preparing and reviewing regulatory reports, monitoring adherence to financial standards, and implementing controls to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Reporting to the CFO, you'll be an experienced leader and keen to support an ambitious growth journey over the next 3 years.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Reporting:

  1. Prepare and submit accurate and timely regulatory reports in line with local and international standards (e.g., Basel III, IFRS, GAAP).
  2. Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and implement updates to reporting processes.
  3. Liaise with regulatory bodies and auditors, ensuring clear communication and compliance with their requirements.
  4. Analyze variances and trends in regulatory metrics, providing detailed explanations to stakeholders.
  5. Develop and maintain robust financial control systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  6. Oversee reconciliations, journal entries, and the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  7. Conduct risk assessments to identify weaknesses in financial control and implement corrective actions.
  8. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and resolve findings.

Process Improvement:

  1. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting and control processes.
  2. Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and practices to enhance the efficiency of financial operations.

Stakeholder Management:

  1. Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding regulatory reporting and financial control matters.
  2. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on compliance, financial health, and risk management.
