Since inception in 2010, Silverstream Technologies has pioneered the commercial development of Air Lubrication (ALS) within the maritime industry. This technology reduces the impact of frictional resistance between the bottom surfaces of a ship’s hull and the water. As fuel costs increase with the introduction of green fuels, the Silverstream System will become increasingly relevant for ship owners and operators, offering a strong economic return on investment.
Following the success of the prototype solution in 2014 and subsequent commercial deployments, Silverstream has experienced significant growth over the last five years. Today, we have approximately 140 people focused solely on ALS across London, Shanghai, and Southampton. We are proud to be the industry leader and to contribute to the maritime sector’s decarbonisation ambitions.
The New Role – Head of Regulatory Affairs
We recognize the need for stronger representation among our peer groups and governing bodies, including the International Maritime Organization. The Head of Regulatory Affairs will play a vital role in promoting the maturity and relevance of our technology within influencing and governing bodies such as trade associations including the International Chamber of Shipping, BIMCO, SIGTTO, and others. They will also actively participate in leading maritime industry forums and engage in lobbying through government bodies.
