The role

Head of the Real Estate & Infrastructure Operations team responsible for end-to-end specialist accounting and operational support for Investments circa. £7BN UK Real Estate and Infrastructure businesses.

Alongside accountability for the team that delivers business-as-usual accounting and operational support, this role manages change and delivers operational excellence aligned with strategic and tactical business goals.

How you will spend your time:

  1. Managing departmental planning to achieve strategic goals.
  2. Driving departmental and cross-team improvements for operational excellence.
  3. Managing three direct reports and overseeing a team of approximately 40 indirect reports, including recruitment, training, motivation, and development.
  4. Representing the department internally and externally, e.g., at board meetings, committees, and with key investors.
  5. Responsible for all aspects of operations management.
  6. Participating in the Property Business Management Team with joint responsibility for meeting committee objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Post-qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experience with UK Real Estate and Infrastructure funds is advantageous.
  • Senior management experience within Financial Services.
  • Experience across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Jersey, and Luxembourg.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Leadership experience managing and motivating teams with diverse priorities.
  • Ability to identify and implement operational efficiencies and control improvements.
  • Problem-solving skills for complex issues.
  • Client-focused approach.
  • Forward-thinking with strong planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and proactive.
