Learning together, inspiring colleagues, and making the entire organisation better. Join us and help keep the nation's critical networks connected and protected 24/7.

We're now looking for a Head of Quality Services and Assurance to lead the charge in setting, maintaining, and evolving the highest standards of quality, environmental responsibility, and compliance across our Highways business.

This is a Senior Leadership role where you'll own and drive the development and delivery of our Quality Services, Assurance, and Sustainability strategies - ensuring we not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our Quinton office one day per week, as well as ad hoc travel to our Warwick HQ and other customer sites on occasion.

What you'll do:
  1. Lead Strategy & Performance: Develop and deliver a comprehensive Quality, Environmental, and Sustainability management strategy aligned to Telent's business goals.
  2. Governance & Compliance: Design, implement and oversee robust quality assurance frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO20000-1, NHSS8, PAS2080).
  3. Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team of Quality, Environmental and Sustainability professionals, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  4. Audit & Inspection: Manage internal and external audit programmes, proactively identifying areas for improvement and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
  5. Reporting & Insight: Provide senior leadership with clear, actionable insights on risks, opportunities, and achievements in quality and sustainability performance.
  6. Customer Focus: Ensure customer satisfaction by overseeing timely and effective resolution of quality-related issues.
  7. Systems Ownership: Take full ownership of Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS & EMS), ensuring they remain fit for purpose and drive business value.
Who you are:

We're seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Quality Assurance leader who brings not only deep technical expertise but also the strategic vision and leadership skills to elevate our approach to quality, compliance, and sustainability. You'll be a natural collaborator with a proactive mindset, capable of influencing change and building a culture of excellence across the business.

Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a senior quality management role in a regulated environment (Highways is preferred, however we will also consider Rail, Civil Engineering, Construction, or Telecoms).
  • Leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including Quality and Environmental functions.
  • Demonstrable success in developing, implementing, and embedding certified management systems.
  • Certified ISO9001 internal auditor; familiarity with ISO20000-1, ISO14001, PAS2080.
  • Good understanding of service management processes (e.g., ITIL).
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and legal compliance requirements.
  • Commercial acumen, including budget management and project delivery.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills.
  • A full UK driving licence - some travel to offices and customer sites is required.
