This role will drive the coaching quality and impact of the Spear Programme, both through training and impact management, and effective deployment of Development Coaches. This role will work closely with coaching and management teams to understand and explore current programme performance, design appropriate interventions and support the Quality and Development Manager to promote a health impact approach across the organisation.

Core Responsibilities
Spear Programme Quality and Development
- Oversee the overall performance of the Spear Programme with the Head of Programmes, working closely with Programme Managers to influence team performance
- Oversee the Quality & Development Manager, who ensures that impact measurement systems and approaches are fit-for-purpose and fully utilised by Spear coaching and management teams
- Support the Quality & Development Manager to plan and prioritise which Spear Centres they target for in-person visits, centre observations and development feedback
- Work with the Programmes team to identify key areas for programme development and collaborate with delivery teams to help implement programme changes
Development Coach Oversight
- Line managing a Senior Development coach and supporting their work across the Spear centres
- Develop the structure of the newly enlarged Development Coach team, ensuring a good balance of support and training to maximise their impact, and growing this into a stable team under the oversight of the Quality & Development Manager
- Work with the Quality & Development Manager and Regional Hub Managers to develop a system of managing coach utilisation at Spear centres across the country, ensuring they are able to fill key gaps, as well as support the growth of other coaches
- Grow the team in their confidence and coaching skill, so that they have an increased focus on developing the quality of coaching at centres around the country
- Work with Regional Hub Managers to ensure that costs of Development Coaches are recharged or reallocated where possible, to maximise the ROI of this team
Coaching Quality and Training
- Work closely with the Quality & Development Manager and Programmes team to develop suitable interventions to current needs
- With the Coaching and Training Lead to write, develop and deliver training to individual Spear teams and the wider coaching team as appropriate, including travelling to Regional Hubs on an ad hoc basis to deliver this
- Supporting the Coaching and Training Lead to review and refresh our approach to Spear Coach training
- Working with the Coaching and Training Lead in their oversight of the coaching accreditation process to ensure it is fit for purpose and appropriately rolled out across the Spear teams
Person Specification
Essential
- Ability to personally represent the Christian values of Resurgo
- Extensive Spear coaching experience, excellent coaching ability and gifted in holding feedback conversations
- A strong group facilitator with extensive experience in coaching training
- A good understanding of impact data and an interest in designing systems to maintain excellent coaching outcomes and team stability
- Excellent project management ability, able to plan effectively and drive projects through to completion
- Excellent communication skills; able to clearly communicate complex ideas
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
