Job summary

Jonathan Lee Group seeks a Head of Quality to lead quality strategy for a specialist engineering and manufacturing business in Leominster. The role focuses on delivering reliable products in a low-volume, high-complexity environment with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

You will drive ISO 9001 and AS9100 capabilities, strengthen release and testing processes, and collaborate with Engineering and Production to convert technical requirements into robust, repeatable controls.

Qualifications

• Senior Quality leadership experience within engineering or technical manufacturing.
• Strong track record building or transforming a Quality Management System.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 and their practical implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System.
• Drive the transition to ISO 9001 capability in-house and embed AS9100 across the operation.
• Strengthen product release, inspection, and testing processes to ensure conformity.
• Develop non-conformance, root cause analysis, and corrective action approaches with governance.
• Partner with Engineering and Production to translate technical requirements into repeatable processes.
• Lead Quality performance with supplier quality expectations and corrective-action follow-through.

As a Head of Quality, you will:

• Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System as part of the Head of Quality remit.
• Drive the transition to bring ISO 9001 capability in-house and embed AS9100 across the operation.
• Strengthen product release, inspection, and testing processes to ensure product conformity and consistency.
• Develop non-conformance, root cause analysis, and corrective action approaches, with clear ownership and effective governance.
• Partner closely with Engineering and Production to translate technical requirements into practical, repeatable processes and controls.
• Lead Quality performance with supplier quality expectations, improvement plans, and disciplined corrective-action follow-through.

The Head of Quality will bring:

• Significant senior Quality leadership experience within engineering or technical manufacturing.
• Proven experience building, transforming, or significantly improving a Quality Management System.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100, including implementation, transition, or significant system development.
• Operational Quality expertise covering conformity, inspection and testing, non-conformance, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Credibility to influence, coach, and constructively challenge across shop-floor delivery and senior leadership.
