Job summary

Omega Resource Group seeks a Senior Quality professional to head the UK Quality function for an aerospace engineering business in Gloucestershire. You will own the AS9100 QMS, oversee product quality, inspection, and supplier/customer quality issues within a growth-focused environment.

Key responsibilities include leading internal and external audits, supervising CAPA, and guiding quality planning for new programmes through FAIR, APQP and PPAP.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in AS9100 Quality Management System and aerospace regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead audits, CAPA programs, and corrective action systems.
• Experience building quality capability and driving continuous improvement across a business.

Responsibilities

• Own the Quality Management System end-to-end.
• Lead internal audits, management reviews, and external audits.
• Oversee inspection, testing and release of aerospace components and assemblies.
• Drive CAPA and corrective action processes.
• Lead quality planning for new programmes using FAIR, APQP and PPAP.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain to ensure supplier compliance.
• Mentor quality teams and promote continuous improvement across the organisation.

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quality professional to join a rapidly scaling Aerospace engineering business in Gloucestershire as Head of Quality.

In this position you will be responsible for heading up the entire UK quality function including owning the AS9100 QMS, overseeing product quality and inspection, industrialisation, and both supplier & customer quality issues.

You'll need to be comfortable working in an evolving business with growth and change management a key aspect as the business scales up.

Key to this role will be your core experience within the aerospace sector and the understanding of the key regulatory requirements.

Duties

• Owning the Quality Management System end to end


• Lead internal audits, management reviews, and front external audits


• Overseeing inspection, testing and release of aerospace components and assemblies


• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)


• Leading quality planning for new programmes through FAIR, APQP and PPAP


• Work with Purchasing and Supply Chain to keep suppliers compliant


• Building and mentoring quality capability across the business.


• Set and direct continuous improvement mentality within the team.


• Primary quality contact for customers, regulatory agencies and certification bodies

Background

• Deep understanding and experience with AS9100.


• Background leading AS9100 Quality Management System


• Aerospace manufacturing experience essential


• Background with aerospace regulatory requirements


• Strong background with FAIR, APQP, & PPAP


• Experience with root cause analysis tools.


• Proven ability to lead audits and manage corrective action systems


• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
