Location: Cambridge (CB25)
Duration: Permanent
Hours: 8am until 5pm (Monday to Friday)
Salary: 80,000 to 90,000

Polytec are looking for a Head of Purchasing to manage procurement activities for our client based just north of Cambridge. Travel will be required for this role so you will need to have a full, clean driving licence and own transport.

Responsibilities:

Define supply chain strategy
Identify, select and approve new suppliers
Negotiate / establish contractual agreements
Cost reduction targets
Stock ordering / lean inventory management / forecasting
Ensure materials are delivered in time to support customer demand
Escalation path for purchasing / supplier issues
Continuous improvement activities
Cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives
New product introduction

Requirements:

Degree in a relevant field
MCIPS
Extensive supply chain experience within electronics, telecommunications or consumer goods
Management of complex global supplier / customer relationships
Team management experience.
Excellent IT skills, competent using Microsoft Excel and Dynamics AX
Experience of offshore contract manufacturing management
Ability to influence at senior level
