Head of Purchasing

This company is a market leader in their field and they are looking for a highly experienced Head of Purchasing with a background in Engineering including significant exposure to electronics components, to define and deliver the global supply chain strategy for the business, delivering maximum value to all stakeholders. This will use a combination of your strategic, leadership and hands-on skills.

With a great culture based in modern facilities within a lovely location just outside of Cambridge, you will be responsible for managing all procurement activities, playing a critical role in optimising costs, ensuring the timely delivery of products and services as well as building strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities:

Key Qualifications:

• Proven track record for reducing costs
• Experience of offshore contract manufacturing management
• Provide clear direction to your team
• Lead by example
• Experience working with global suppliers
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to remain informed when dealing with large volumes of information and prioritise issues within a complex organisation
• Team player with the ability to work with stakeholders across multiple disciplines
• Prepared to travel internationally

To complement this, you should also ideally have:

• A professional qualification such as MCIPS
• Strong Excel skills
• Detailed Microsoft AX knowledge

Due to the travel involved with this role, you need to have a full, clean driving licence and your own car. Travel expenses will be paid.
