Senior / Executive Editor (Head of Publication)

At Today Digital, we’re bucking the trend of digital publishers struggling to adapt — and we’re looking for a talented, experienced editorial lead to help us continue to grow.

We’re an independent B2B technology publisher with a global audience and a clear mission: to redefine what digital publishing looks like in the age of AI.

We’re seeking an experienced Senior or Executive Editor to take day-to-day ownership of one of our flagship publications, CX Today, leading coverage across customer experience and adjacent enterprise technologies for an audience of vendors, partners, and B2B technology buyers.

It’s a four-day week, but don’t mistake that for slow: this is a fast-paced, high-visibility role requiring focus, initiative, and smart prioritisation. You’ll thrive if you’re energised by variety — moving from breaking news and video interviews one moment to client strategy calls or long-form features the next.

Role Purpose

This is a hands‑on editorial leadership role — ideal for an experienced journalist or content‑marketing professional ready to become the public face of a respected B2B brand. You’ll combine editorial excellence with commercial awareness, managing a small team of journalists while producing your own high‑impact stories, interviews, and video content.

Key Responsibilities
Editorial & Content Production
  • Lead the day‑to‑day editorial output for your publication.
  • Write, edit, and publish news, features, interviews, and sponsored content.
  • Conduct and host video interviews, webinars, and live panels.
  • Oversee the editorial calendar and ensure coverage aligns with strategic themes and audience needs.
  • Use AI‑assisted tools responsibly to improve team efficiency, consistency, and performance – while maintaining journalistic credibility and integrity.
Brand & Audience Leadership
  • Act as the public face of the publication across video, events, and social media.
  • Represent the brand at international events and client engagements.
  • Build relationships with analysts, vendors, buyers, and partners to strengthen credibility and reach.
  • Identify emerging trends and propose new content formats and partnerships.
Commercial Collaboration
  • Partner with the Commercial team to deliver sponsored content campaigns that meet both editorial and client goals.
  • Serve as on‑camera host and interviewer for key commercial videos and webinars.
  • Ensure sponsored content maintains editorial integrity and audience value.
  • Contribute to campaign ideation, client briefings, and post‑campaign reporting.
Team & Operational Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a small, high‑performing editorial team.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to operationalise editorial strategy and performance tracking.
