About us
The MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences (LMS) is a biomedical research institute where scientists and clinicians collaborate to advance the understanding of biology and its application to medicine. LMS is one of three directly funded MRC research institutes and enjoys close links with our partners at Imperial College London and at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Proteomics Scientist who will be responsible for developing a long-term strategy for providing world-class mass spectrometry-based proteomics capabilities at the LMS.
The post holder will lead a team of scientists in the Proteomics Facility. Using world-class mass spectrometry resources, the post-holder will work collaboratively with research groups throughout the LMS to support their studies. In addition, the post-holder will be responsible for maintaining and developing cutting-edge techniques and approaches required to carry out proteomics-based research within the Institute, providing a high-quality service to all users including appropriate support and training.
About You
You will need a PhD and be able to demonstrate extensive direct practical experience in proteomics research, with a strong track record of publications and presentations at meetings. Extensive experience in biological mass spectrometry including significant practical involvement in proteomics is essential, as well as proven ability in proteomics-based mass spectrometry, developing methodology, and applying the technique to cutting-edge biological problems.
