Job description

We are currently working in partnership with an award-winning Housing Association based in Bristol, who are looking to appoint a Head of Compliance (Customer Safety).

This will be a full-time position based in Bristol, with hybrid working (2/3 days home working) and a salary of up to £80,000 per year dependent on experience.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience both within Social Housing as well as all the ‘Big 6’ compliance areas.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading the effective management of statutory compliance and ensuring full adherence to regulatory requirements across key areas including gas, electrical, asbestos, fire safety, legionella, water, and lifts
  • Facilitating the transition of compliance responsibilities from Housing Management to the Housing Repairs Service Team, including embedding improved processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery
  • Developing and maintaining a proactive compliance schedule and implementing servicing cycles to ensure ongoing organisational compliance
  • Evaluating compliance data and KPIs to produce regular assurance reports covering all aspects of compliance performance, processes, and statutory obligations
  • Developing and reviewing compliance policies and procedures in line with current legislation and sector best practice
  • Ensuring that landlord compliance responsibilities are met, including for properties where the Housing Association does not retain direct maintenance responsibilities
  • Managing budgets relating to compliance activities and preparing accurate forecasts for future programme expenditure

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing
  • Experience across Asbestos, Legionella, Water, LOLER, Lifts, Gas, Fire and Electrics

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Compliance budgets, KPIs, PPMs and Social Housing
  • Compliance and due diligence

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
