Our client is a next-generation live entertainment company rooted in African culture and global storytelling, known for their flagship music festival celebrating African and urban music genres such as Afrobeats, Amapiano, R&B, Hip Hop, and more. The festival unites the African diaspora and celebrates diversity through music, food, fashion, and art, attracting a large European audience annually.

The company aims to build experiences that move people emotionally, physically, and globally. They are expanding and seeking a Head of Promotions to drive the strategic and financial success of their event portfolio, ensuring profitability, cultural relevance, and demand.

The Role: Head of Promotions

This leadership role involves overseeing a portfolio of ticketed events, leading a team of promoters to grow revenue, audience, and brand presence. It requires expertise in event curation, ticketing, pricing, sponsorship, and multi-market expansion.

Experience:
  • 10+ years in live event promotions, talent booking, or ticketing strategy, with a proven record of scaling events profitably.
  • Experience managing multi-city or international event portfolios.
  • Data-driven ticketing and pricing strategy expertise.
  • Strong industry relationships with talent agencies, ticketing platforms, and brands.
  • Leadership experience managing high-performing teams across locations.
  • Financial acumen including P&L management, sales forecasting, and revenue optimization.
  • Experience with major promoters like Live Nation, AEG, or leading independents.
  • Knowledge of sponsorship integration and brand activations.
  • Experience expanding brands into new markets or launching new festivals.
  • Understanding of global music trends and audience behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures a balanced event calendar across seasons, locations, and demographics.
Ticketing & Pricing Strategy
  • Develops dynamic pricing models, including tiered tickets and VIP offerings.
  • Owns P&L responsibility, managing budgets and revenue targets.
  • Works with ticketing partners to optimize sales channels.
  • Uses sales data and trends for real-time pricing adjustments.
Commercial & Sponsorship Integration
  • Works with brand and sponsorship teams for activation integration.
  • Secures commercial partnerships to add value beyond ticket sales.
  • Creates marketing strategies aligned with ticketing and sponsorship goals.
Market Positioning & Industry Leadership
  • Represents the company at industry events and panels.
