As we navigate a critical period of transformation, we are looking for a Head of Strategic Projects & PMO to lead and deliver our most impactful initiatives across the Water Services Business -encompassing South West Water, Bristol Water, Bournemouth Water, and SES Water.

This is a unique opportunity to lead large-scale strategic change, drive performance excellence, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of water services for the region.

What you'll be doing

• Spearheading a portfolio of complex, high-impact strategic projects that deliver growth, transformation, and measurable outcomes
• Establishing and leading a high-performing centralised Project Management Office (PMO), embedding consistent tools, standards, and governance frameworks
• Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic oversight of programmes and portfolios
• Building organisation-wide project delivery capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Ensuring risk, compliance, and governance standards are met across all programmes
• Engaging stakeholders at all levels – from operational teams to the Board – to secure alignment and impact
• Championing innovation, process improvement, and change adoption across all water services businesses

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in senior project and programme leadership roles
• Expertise in managing large, complex, cross-functional programmes -ideally within utilities or regulated environments
• Deep knowledge of both agile and traditional project delivery methodologies
• Experience in organisational transformation, process improvement and PMO leadership
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project certifications (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt desirable)
• Highly developed interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills with the ability to drive change at pace
• Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
