We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Project Services to join our growing team at our EMEA Head office in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will partner with Pharmaceutical project managers to apply their project controls and management experience, specifically related to cost and schedule, for our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, revise, and maintain detailed project cost estimates and forecasts across all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, start-up, validation, and closeout.
  • Track and analyze project costs, budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, and forecasts.
  • Conduct forecast to budget, forecast to actuals, and contingency analysis.
  • Participate in developing and improving project control systems.
  • Recommend improvements in systems, tools, and methods for project controls and management.
  • Assist in creating detailed project budgets and cash flow projections, working with the Project Management team to manage overall project costs.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal business development discussions.
  • Stay updated on emerging industry practices and their application to client projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with project teams, SLT, stakeholders, clients, consultants, vendors, and public entities.
  • Facilitate team and client meetings, supporting or chairing as appropriate.
  • Hold regular project status meetings.
  • Resolve or escalate issues promptly to the PM and EMA Project Services Director.
  • Communicate sensitive information tactfully.
  • Engage with clients to identify needs and evaluate business solutions, supporting IPS Project Managers.
  • Support the rollout of the IPS Quality Management System (QMS) and Community of Practice (COP).

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 10+ years of Pharmaceutical project experience managing program controls and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in enterprise scheduling software such as Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Proficiency with MS Project.
  • Familiarity with Touch Plan and IAP processes.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management processes and modeling systems like Monte Carlo.
  • Bachelor’s degree in QS, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
