We are seeking two experienced project delivery professionals to take on the role of Head of Project Resources, in the Programme Delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing a team of up to twelve Programme and Project Managers, focusing on building and managing the necessary delivery capabilities to meet current needs and support future pipelines. As well as managing the deployment of the team across a diverse portfolio of highly technical and innovative programmes valued at over £200 million over the next five years, you will take the lead on coordinating Programme Delivery input into new business development and support the planning & costing of annual core grant funded investment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO (Duties)

  • Team Management: Manage and provide mentorship to a team of up to twelve Programme and Project Managers ensuring effective performance management while promoting a culture of learning, excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Delivery Management: Seek opportunities to define, develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, and manage input in to new business development
  • Operational Leadership: As part of the Programme Delivery Management Team, develop a Project Management Community of Practise
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other department heads to integrate Project Delivery activities across Digital Catapult
  • Resource Allocation: Work closely with and support the Head of OPMO and Heads of Project Delivery to ensure effective and efficient assignment of resources to programme and project management roles.
  • Performance Management: Monitor performance of individuals within assigned roles to help assure continued successful delivery whilst balancing utilisation rates with development opportunities and business needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve programme and project delivery at Digital Catapult.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Experience)

  • Significant project and programme management experience ranging from small, agile projects through to larger scale programmes.
  • Strong leadership skills - previous experience of line managing a similar size team.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
