Job summary

Aureos is seeking a Head of Project Controls in Dungeness to establish and lead the project controls function for the boiler programme. You will drive schedules, cost control, risk management and governance to ensure safe, on-time delivery within budget.

Responsibilities include developing dashboards, reporting to senior stakeholders, and leading a team of project controls professionals with a focus on continuous improvement and capability development.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in project controls, programme controls or PMO leadership roles.
  • Strong expertise in planning, scheduling, cost management and reporting.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects or programmes.
  • Knowledge of project delivery methodologies and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain integrated project schedules.

The Head of Project Controls will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and leading the project controls function on the Dungeness Boiler programme. The role ensures effective planning, scheduling, cost management, risk management, performance reporting and change control processes are implemented to enable successful project delivery.

The Head of Project Controls provides accurate and timely insight into project performance, supporting informed decision-making and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with agreed objectives.

Group Head of Project Controls – Establish a Group Project Controls function, responsible for producing standardised governance for Planning, Cost Management, Risk Management, Change Management & Document Control, plus the enterprise roll out of Earned Value Methodology.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
  • Working with the Planning Manager to implement and maintain integrated project schedules using recognised planning tools and methodologies.
  • Establish project baselines and monitor progress against schedule commitments.
  • Analyse critical paths, dependencies and resource requirements.
  • Conduct schedule risk assessments and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Ensure consistency of planning standards across projects and programmes.

  • PMI-SP, PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Association of Cost Engineers (ACostE) membership.
  • Chartered status through a relevant professional institution.
