An ambitious new digital network is building a content operation focused on long-form YouTube programming around UK sport, with football at its core. This growing platform creates original formats in partnership with creators, athletes, and celebrities, with the goal of delivering standout content to a loyal and expanding fanbase.

This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior leadership role focused purely on YouTube production, helping to define how football content is made and consumed in the digital age.

The Role

The Head of Production (YouTube) will lead the day-to-day production of all long-form video content across multiple football-first YouTube channels. The role involves managing a high-volume slate of original formats, overseeing shoot logistics, and developing systems that allow for consistent, scalable output at speed.

This position requires a strong understanding of how to build and grow audiences on YouTube, how to lead creative teams in fast-paced environments, and how to produce content that feels current, authentic, and engaging to modern football fans.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead YouTube production across multiple football-focused channels and formats
• Oversee all stages of content creation, from planning and filming to post-production and publishing
• Manage and expand a team of producers, editors, and freelancers
• Develop and implement streamlined workflows to support high-volume, long-form output
• Ensure content is delivered on time, on budget, and to a consistently high standard
• Collaborate closely with talent, creators, and internal teams to shape production plans
• Track performance metrics to optimise scheduling, length, structure, and creative approach
• Stay ahead of YouTube trends and best practices, particularly in sports and entertainment
• Maintain a clear focus on audience growth and subscriber engagement through production excellence
• Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused culture within the production team

Ideal Background

• Proven experience leading YouTube-first productions, ideally in football or wider sports content
• Strong knowledge of what makes football fans watch, share, and subscribe
• Comfortable managing multiple productions in parallel at different stages
• Experience working with creators, athletes, and public figures in a digital content setting
• Highly organised with strong planning, budgeting, and scheduling skills
• A clear understanding of how YouTube algorithms and audience habits impact production strategy
• Confident team leader with the ability to grow and motivate a creative production unit
• Passionate about building content that lives at the heart of football culture
