About the Role

As our new Head of Product Management, you will straddle business strategy, technology, and innovation to drive digital product success. In this high-impact role, you will lead a team of highly skilled Product Managers with responsibility for the product strategy and roadmap for digital products for the UK and International business branches in the Education division. Your responsibilities include overseeing user experience and educational impact to meet customer expectations and deliver financial and strategic objectives, working in collaboration with key divisional and local stakeholders.

You will ensure effective product management of digitally smart, user-friendly, market-competitive solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of services, from strategic planning to tactical operations. This includes researching and bringing new products to market, leading ongoing improvement and maintenance of existing services, and overseeing product retirement. Monitoring market and digital trends, advising on acquisition/partnership opportunities, and representing UK and International requirements on divisional and/or global initiatives are also key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive digital product strategy for the UK and International branches, aligning with OUP’s broader vision.
  • Drive long-term educational and commercial success by championing user needs and leveraging market insights.
  • Ensure effective cross-functional collaboration across Publishing, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, foster innovation, and provide strategic leadership and team development.
  • Oversee operational planning, financial control, and contribute to organizational performance and reputation.
Working Arrangements

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You
  • Experience in developing product and business strategies.
  • Proven success in defining and delivering digital product strategies.
  • Experience leading multiple cross-divisional initiatives within tight timeframes.
  • Knowledge of educational policy, pedagogy, and digital education technologies.
  • Experience analyzing business performance and market trends using management information systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in delivering services in a disaggregated platform model, including cloud services and commoditization.
