Job description

We are looking for a strategic, commercially minded Head of Product to lead an established product team and drive the continued evolution of a growing portfolio of IT services. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the direction of a well-regarded Managed Services Provider (MSP) that supports UK-based SMBs across a broad range of solutions, including Cyber Security, Cloud, Modern Workplace, Data & BI, AI & Automation, and Support Services.

You'll bring a balance of hands-on product management, team leadership, and strategic vision-ensuring the business continues to deliver the right products, in the right way, for the right customers.

Responsibilities

Product Leadership

Own the full lifecycle of an established product portfolio, ensuring services remain relevant, competitive, and commercially successful

Continuously improve offering design, pricing, packaging, positioning, and delivery models

Stay up to date with market and customer trends to guide product decisions

Evaluate and introduce new services or enhancements aligned to customer and market needs

Hands-on Product Management

Deliver key initiatives from concept to launch, and refine through iteration

Translate customer, commercial, and delivery feedback into product improvements

Develop documentation, collateral, and training to support product launches and adoption

Monitor and evaluate product performance to drive ongoing improvement

Team Leadership & Coaching

Lead and mentor a team comprising a Product Manager, Microsoft Alliance Manager, and Technical Training Manager

Set clear goals, support development, and build a high-performance, collaborative culture

Provide structure, priorities, and coaching to ensure team success

Strategy & Collaboration

Work closely with the CTO to define and maintain the strategic roadmap across product areas

Collaborate with commercial, operational, and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment across departments

Build strong vendor relationships, particularly with Microsoft, to unlock co-investment and strategic opportunities

Key Requirements:

MSP background is essential - familiarity with MSP products, customers, and the market is crucial.

Breadth of experience - ideally someone with exposure across Cyber Security, Cloud, Modern Workplace, Data & BI, and not just specialist knowledge in one area (particularly not solely in networking/communications).

Product lifecycle expertise - strong end-to-end product management capabilities.

People leadership - ideally with some experience managing or mentoring others.

SMB market experience - as this will be the continued strategic focus moving forward.

A great opportunity for someone looking to transition into a leadership role while still enjoying hands-on product ownership, including managing releases.

Location & Working Model:

Role is home-based, with a preference for candidates who live within reach of key offices in Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Birmingham, or Manchester.

Offices also in London, Oxford, and Edinburgh, though less frequently used by the team.

Will need to attend office 2-4 times a month for operational leadership meetings and occasionally as needed.

Salary & Package:

£80-90k base salary with potential flexibility to increase for an exceptional candidate.

Strategic Direction:

The business is focused on the SMB market, with a key USP being the breadth of their product portfolio. Their capabilities in Security and Data/BI are particularly strong, and they are preparing to launch a new AI & Automation solution-originally developed and deployed internally-to clients later this year. This sets them apart from many MSPs:

Larger MSPs tend to focus on the corporate space

Smaller MSPs often lack the investment to develop and deliver this breadth of services

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of an ambitious, well-respected MSP delivering enterprise-grade capability to the SMB market.

If you're a forward-thinking product leader with a passion for delivering scalable, high-impact services to the SMB market, we'd love to hear from you.
