Job summary

ClearCourse is seeking a Head of Product Engineering for Retail to lead engineering across a diverse SaaS portfolio. Hybrid working, 9 products across 6 tech stacks, and leadership of Product Technical Leads offer a strategic platform to shape engineering culture.

You will drive AI-enabled development, set standards, and partner with senior leaders to define technology strategy and product priorities in a fast-growing UK software group.

ClearCourse is looking for aHead of Product Engineering - Retail to lead the largest and most technically diverse engineering vertical across our SaaS portfolio. You'll oversee9 products spanning 6 technology stacks, leading Product Technical Leads while shaping the future of our engineering organisation.

This is more than a leadership role—it's an opportunity to influence strategy, drive AI adoption, improve engineering standards, and play a key part in the evolution of one of the UK's fastest-growing software groups.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead and develop Product Technical Leads across a diverse engineering portfolio
• Own engineering capacity, delivery, and performance across multiple products
• Drive engineering excellence, consistency, and AI-assisted development
• Partner with senior leaders to shape technology strategy and product priorities

Requirements

We're looking for an experienced engineering leader who combines technical credibility with commercial thinking.

You'll bring:

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a product-led environment
• Strong technical background with the ability to challenge and support senior engineers
• Experience managing multiple products or engineering teams simultaneously
• A track record of developing high-performing technical teams
• Strong stakeholder management and strategic planning skills
• A passion for modern engineering practices and AI-enabled software development

Desirable:

• Experience within a PE-backed or multi-product SaaS business
• Knowledge of AI development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code
• Experience leading engineering teams through organisational change or acquisitions
