Job description

What to Expect

We are recruiting for a Head of Product Engineering and Delivery to join our Autonomous, Connected Mobility and AI team in Woking. This role owns the end-to-end product development, integration, and platformization strategy, ensuring that ADAS/AD software, cloud services, and connectivity infrastructure work cohesively to power McLaren Automotive's next-generation AI-native vehicle platforms.

You will be responsible for cross-domain technical alignment—bridging ADAS/AD software, vehicle compute, cloud architecture, and connected mobility solutions—while ensuring system scalability, modularity, and regulatory compliance.

This role requires deep expertise in system architecture, software-defined vehicle design, and cloud-connected ADAS ecosystems to deliver cutting-edge autonomous and connected vehicle solutions.

What You'll Do
  • Own and evolve the technical roadmap for ADAS/AD, cloud services, and connected mobility, ensuring scalable deployment across global platforms.
  • Lead cross-domain delivery and integration: AD/ADAS stack, software-defined vehicle architecture, motion planning/control abstraction, cloud compute, OTA, and app-connected UX.
  • Define and manage the motion abstraction interface that allows safe integration of AI-based driving policy models across diverse vehicle configurations.
  • Define and oversee system validation frameworks, including HIL/SIL testing, functional safety compliance, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Drive strategic decisions on software architecture, balancing on-board vs cloud-based AI processing for autonomous driving capabilities.
  • Ensure McLaren Automotive connected vehicle platform integrates advanced AI, edge computing, and cloud-first OTA infrastructure.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven leadership in delivering software-defined vehicle systems and cross-domain ADAS/AD integrations.
  • Deep technical understanding of ADAS/AD software, vehicle connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and motion planning/control abstraction.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in ADAS/AD, cloud computing, and real-time AI model deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical alignment across AI, chassis, powertrain, and digital UX teams.
  • Proven track record in building scalable, cloud-integrated ADAS/AD platforms.
  • Experience managing large-scale distributed development teams and external integration partners.
