We’re building and operating the world’s most sophisticated battery systems to enable the uptake of more renewable power and accelerating fleet electrification, de-risking the transition to zero-emission transport at scale. We’ve been consistently innovative since we were founded in 2017, achieving major industry firsts and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers. At the end of their life, we repurpose electric vehicle batteries to provide clean power at depots, on construction sites and film sets.

Today we have 730 MW of grid scale battery storage operational and under construction and are the largest owner and operator of EV buses in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, supporting over 1,000 electric vehicles worldwide. In our first five years we have raised nearly £1.8 billion in funding and have expanded into other markets such as the US. Our rapidly growing company is looking for highly talented and motivated people to join us.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Product to join Zenobe and lead our EV product team to deliver new, exciting and innovative products. You will be leading the Product team to refine their ways of working whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers to develop a customer-focused roadmap that delivers tangible, measurable value - not just features.
  • Instill rigour and accountability in the team's approach to product development, ensuring decisions are based on data and clear prioritisation
  • You’re passionate about processes which ensure predictability and long term successful outcomes
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration, helping the team shift to proactive strategic thinking
  • Actively coach and upskill team members, providing direct feedback and structured development opportunities
  • Review and challenge roadmaps, epics, and benefit realisation regularly, ensuring the team is refining its approach and delivering meaningful outcomes
  • Champion best practices in product management, driving consistency, efficiency, and high standards across the team's work

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Work with the PME leadership team to develop and communicate a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with company objectives
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation
  • Define and prioritise key product initiatives based on customer needs, business impact, and technical feasibility

Product Development & Execution

  • Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle
  • Ensure Product is collaborating with Engineering for timely and high-quality customer deliveries.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success.
  • Build a culture of proactively managing and recording risks and dependencies

Customer & Market Insight

  • Understand the renewable market space and EV – you promote constant ways for the team to find new opportunities for innovation
  • Maintain and evolve how Product engages with customers, stakeholders, and partners to gather insights and validate product decisions
  • Use data-driven approaches, including A/B testing, analytics, and user feedback
  • Champion customer experience and usability

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:

  • Partner with Business Development and Customer Success teams to ensure successful product adoption and go-to-market execution
  • Communicate product strategies and updates to key stakeholders
  • Align product priorities with business goals and financial targets

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or a related field for Product
  • 8+ years in product management, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role (mentoring or line management) is essential
  • Proven record of building and launching successful renewables and EV products
  • Experience in Agile and Lean methodologies

Skills & Competencies:

  • You’ve built lots of exciting software features and you love working with engineers
  • Strong leadership and people management skills – you are a natural collaborator who strives to help PMs grow and evolve their careers
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong understanding of technology trends, renewables and customers
  • Ability to translate business goals into actionable product strategies
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
