Job description

The Head of Procurement & TPRM will oversee procurement and supplier risk strategies and processes, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance within the financial services industry. This role can be based in Sheffield, Nottingham, or Birmingham and focuses on optimising supply chain governance of tech supplier and delivering general category management across the procurement team.

Description

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Lead supplier negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, third party risk and supplier governance to ensure compliance with contracts and standards.
  • Oversee the procurement lifecycle, ensuring adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and fulfil procurement needs effectively.
  • Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, offering insights and recommendations.

Profile

A successful Head of Procurement & TPRM should have:
  • Proven experience in procurement and third party risk management within the financial services industry.
  • A strong understanding of procurement best practices, policies, and regulations, as well as a tech / software biased category background.
  • Experience with DORA and SS2/21.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • The ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends and supplier performance.
  • Experience in managing complex procurement projects and budgets.
  • A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in procurement.
