Job description

Montu UK is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Head of Procurement and Logistics to lead and manage all supply chain, procurement, and logistics functions across our UK operations. This role ensures the compliant, cost-effective, and timely procurement, import and storage of our products while aligning with UK cannabis regulations and pharmacy standards.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Procurement:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals and compliance requirements, across both Montu and non-Montu products.

  • Source and evaluate suppliers across the entire supply chain.

  • Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), and payment terms.

  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring product quality, delivery times, and regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure gross margin targets are met.

Logistics & Supply Chain:

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics.

  • Ensure all logistics processes comply with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GMP, GPP, local medical cannabis laws).

  • Manage inventory control systems, optimise warehouse operations, and minimise waste.

  • Coordinate with retail operations, import partners, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth fulfillment.

  • Implement tracking systems and KPIs to monitor and optimise logistics performance.

Regulatory & Compliance:

  • Ensure all procurement and logistics operations comply with medical cannabis regulations.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving medical cannabis compliance laws, including storage and transport requirements.

  • Work closely with RP/QC and compliance teams to ensure proper handling and documentation of controlled substances.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement and warehouse team.

  • Establish cross-functional collaboration between operations, pharmacy staff, compliance, and finance.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in procurement and logistics, preferably in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or medical cannabis industries.

  • Deep understanding of supply chain principles, WMS/QMS systems, and inventory management.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.

  • Familiarity with Good Distribution Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), or similar standards.

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • £110,000 per annum

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 days after 1 years service).
