Job description

We’re working with an established independent hospital in London who are embarking on a pivotal transformation journey, and we’re seeking a Head of Procurement & Supply Chain to support that change. Sitting at the heart of the community, the hospital offers vital services with a collaborative and passionate team supporting it.

The Role

This is not a steady-state procurement leadership role it’s a rare opportunity to join an organisation with a shared transformation vision and be part of the journey to develop a high-performing procurement function.

Reporting into senior leadership, you will be central to a major transformation programme that spans governance improvement and supplier strategy. You’ll have full visibility and influence at C-suite level and will lead a small team as they transition back in-house from an outsourced model.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Leading procurement and supply chain operations across complex service contracts and high-value clinical consumables
  • Ensuring value is achieved and quality is maintained
  • Delivering a robust sourcing plan and supplier strategy
  • Driving governance improvements, including medical device compliance
  • Managing and mentoring a transitioning team
  • Building strong relationships with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders
  • Ensuring alignment with financial targets and broader organisational goals

About You

We’re looking for a diplomatic, emotionally intelligent leader with a track record of delivering procurement transformation. You’ll be confident in regulated environments, ideally with some exposure to healthcare, and comfortable managing people through change.

You’ll bring:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of procurement leadership experience
  • Strong background in supply chain, ideally with outsourcing/hybrid models
  • Demonstrable experience in contracts management and negotiation
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Can demonstrate innovation and new thinking
  • Demonstrable experience managing £10m plus annual spend.
  • Private or charitable healthcare experience is preferred but other regulated sectors will be considered as well.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including C-suite interaction
  • Appetite for new technologies and analytics-driven procurement
  • Ability to lead sensitively, communicate rationale clearly, and support the team through transition
