Job summary

Taylor Wimpey UK Limited is seeking a senior procurement leader to manage key categories and deliver a strategic procurement service across the group. You will work closely with the Procurement Director to drive governance, supplier relationships and value creation.

The role requires leading Category Managers, shaping procurement projects, and ensuring compliance with laws and best practices while supporting risk management and measurable business benefits across regional units.

Qualifications

• Possess commercial procurement experience within the House Building, Construction or Manufacturing sector.
• Possess highly developed negotiation skills.
• Demonstrable stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly professional, strategic procurement service for group categories and support governance of procurement activities.
• Support the Procurement Director in delivering procurement and wider supply chain objectives.

• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation and value.

Job Summary

To be responsible for managing specific categories to deliver a highly professional and strategic Procurement service at Taylor Wimpey UK Limited for a number of Group managed categories. Working closely with, and supporting, the Procurement Director in delivering the Procurement and wider supply chain objectives, which include governance and functional support to the commercial teams.

Primary Responsibilities

Procurement

• Responsible for ensuring that the Category Procurement team delivers a highly professional, commercial and strategic service, having overall accountability for the success of those categories
• Responsible for ensuring that the Category team provides expert advice to the senior management teams, to guarentee that Taylor Wimpey is achieving best value through all of its procurement activities and is complying with relevant laws and regulations
• Managing and developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, driving continual innovation and quality improvement throughout Procurement
• To initiate and lead strategic Procurement projects
• Working with the Procurement and Supply Chain Director to support research and development initiatives
• To assess both strategic and long term risks in Procurement and implement appropriate mitigation strategies as and when required
• To support the Procurement Director in working closely with suppliers and Regional Business Units to recognise and deliver year on year business benefits
• To provide regular reports to the Procurement Director as requested on Procurement matters for their categories
• Maintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation, procedures and best practise for Procurement
• To support Taylor Wimpey’s Health and Safety and Customer Service objectives through the procurement process Management

Process Management

• To manage Category Managers as required by the Procurement Director, to ensure that they build long-term relationships and seek innovative and cost effective solutions to meet the required targets and objectives
• To support in the recruitment, induction, motivation and monitoring of the Category Procurement team, encouragingsuccession planning and people development

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

• Possess commercial procurement experience within the House Building, Construction or Manufacturing sector.
