Overview

Search are looking for an Admin Assistant

Location: oldham

Job Type: contract - full time

Salary: from 450 per day

Starting date: ASAP

The service supports procurement across the organisation with Category Manager work being split over categories of business across the organisation and works closely with commissioners to assist in the procurement of goods and services. The role reports into the Executive Director of Resources.

Responsibilities
  • supporting the recruitment of the permanent procurement team upon completion of the ongoing consultation of the proposed redesign.
  • Progressive pipeline to contract register work.
  • Providing high level procurement advice on complex projects.
  • Reviewing team reports and documents relating to procurement strategies, tenders and awards.
  • Coordinating team FOIs.
  • Supporting on council wide project boards where procurement representation is needed.
  • Along with the typical duties expected of a Head of Procurement and Commercial Services.
Requirements
  • Local Authority experience advantageous
  • Public procurement experience at a senior level (Head of or above) is essential.
  • MCIPS (or equivalent) and preference of a Project Management Qualifications.
  • Must have undertaken PA23 Government Commercial Function 10 PA23 modules.
  • Candidates who are advanced practitioners (3 day deep dive completed) will be prioritised.
  • Inside IR35.
  • 1 day a week on site at Oldham
  • 3 to 6 month contract while the perm team and Head of are recruited following team re-design consultation.
Hours & Contract

Hours are: 7.5 per day Monday to Friday

Contract running until 31/01/ 2026 .
