About the Role

As Head of Procurement, you will lead and evolve our client’s procurement function across all areas of the University. You would be responsible for driving best practice, ensuring value for money, and embedding high-quality, sustainable procurement processes across a broad range of categories including technology, facilities, and professional services. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to deliver a procurement strategy that supports the University’s wider goals, including their commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the University's priorities.
  • Lead the implementation of a university-wide procurement plan, using varied sourcing approaches to meet diverse needs.
  • Strengthen procurement governance and enhance policies, sourcing practices, and supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Key stakeholders to provide training and support across the procurement lifecycle.
  • Monitor market trends and procurement best practices to keep our client’s processes current and effective.
  • Contribute to the University’s ESG agenda by supporting sustainable and ethical procurement practices.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience delivering the full procurement lifecycle across a range of categories and sourcing methods.
  • Strong understanding of procurement strategy, compliance, and risk management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels.
  • Exceptional time management, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience developing and embedding procurement processes and tools.
