Job description

We are hiring a Head of Prime Finance to join the team. The role will work alongside both the wider Operations, Treasury and Risk teams and will be responsible for financing optimisation for the firms Prime and Connect businesses.

• Ensuring that CMC firm inventory held at prime brokers, custodians, other external counterparties is optimized.
• Direct involvement in prime system build out.
• Involvement in the Group’s strategic projects.
• Negotiate Prime contracts and pricing.
• Use analytical skills to recommend strategies to optimise the prime client assets
• Developing and implementing cash reporting functionality to provide greater transparency around risk management.
• Ensure the integrity of data so that it can be used by other teams within the business.
• Ad-hoc tasks as the role requires.
• Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training
• When dealing with all customers, clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC Markets
• Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
• Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Experience of international cash and FX exposure management and related products.
• Financial products and markets experience including money market and financial derivatives
• Experience of liquidity management for vanilla physical assets (including a strong understanding of cashflows).
• Strong analytical skills and financial / treasury systems literate.
• Understanding of risk management strategies
• Data Analysis: Interpreting and manipulating data to inform decision-making.
• Strong relationship management skills and an excellent communicator at all levels.
• Proven project management skills to oversee strategic projects, particularly around system build-out and improvements.
• Ability to think strategically and contribute to the firm's broader goals.
• Ability to handle ad-hoc tasks and solve problems as they arise, especially in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Proactive approach to task management and self-development.
• Relevant experience and/or Business, Economics or Accounting qualification.
