Location: UK-based (remote/hybrid). Occasional travel to London or Huntingdon required for team meetings.

About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic, data-driven leader to shape the future of pricing and performance insight at Jensten Underwriting. Reporting directly to the Director of Underwriting, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-led decision-making across our underwriting strategy. Leading a team of pricing analysts, you’ll develop and implement models, tools, and insights that enable us to balance sustainable profitability with commercial growth.

This is a high-impact leadership role where your analytical expertise, commercial thinking, and collaboration skills will help us sharpen pricing decisions, improve underwriting performance, and ultimately drive smarter trading outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing and Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain pricing models to support rate reviews, pricing elasticity analysis, and loss ratio forecasting.
  • Lead the development of performance management frameworks to monitor rate changes, product mix, and market movements.
  • Build a suite of tools and dashboards that provide proactive, actionable insight to underwriting leaders.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to structure data sources for effective use in modelling, forecasting, and insight generation.
  • Drive collaboration with external actuarial providers to maximise value from their insight and recommendations.
  • Produce regular management information and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of pricing analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and innovation.
  • Embed pricing best practices within product development and underwriting processes.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong track record in commercial insurance pricing or performance insight, within an MGA or underwriting environments.
  • Deep technical experience with pricing methodologies (GLMs, elasticity modelling, etc.) and relevant tools.
  • Confident communicator who can simplify complex data into clear recommendations for underwriting and senior leadership teams.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing analysts.
  • Comfortable working across a mix of strategic and hands-on delivery.
  • Commercially savvy with a strong grasp of underwriting profitability levers and market dynamics.
  • Strong academic background in a numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or similar.
